New Postings to Website

Just posted some new photographs to the website; these were taken on a trip to Cabo San Lucas late last year. Additions to the Beaches, Miscellaneous, and Portraits were made. You should be able to click on the thumbnail image to see a larger one.

The photograph above was taken the morning we were leaving. It was a cloudy day and I was thinking how beautifully the wrought iron on our balcony framed the reflections in the pool. As I worked with the image, the texture of the iron fascinated me more and more, but I thought the background colors were too distracting (see original below) so I converted the background to B/W and added a sepia tint then went to work on the wrought iron with extensive masking and curve adjustments in Photoshop. You tell me if it succeeds!

The photograph was shot using my Nikon D7000/18-200 zoom lens at f11, 1/25 sec, ISO 200, 35mm zoom setting with focus on the iron to gently blur the background.
