Charmed the Snake
Nikon D800E, Nikkor 24-120 at 48 mm, 1/5 sec at f/8,
ISO1600. How's that for hand held?! Plus, I applied
no noise reduction; it's there, but minimal despite hi ISO.

Just a brief message wishing everyone a happy holiday season and hopeful anticipation of a peaceful and productive 2013! Photographs from Riviera Nayarit have been posted. For those of you geographically challenged, that just north of Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. I have shot often down there and found it challenging to "see" some new things. An excursion to Soyulito helped! I am starting to realize that I often revisit prior images or themes like the lines and grooves in a palm leaf and, of course, flowers; interesting to contemplate. Textures continue to fascinate as well, as you can see with the image at right. Working on lesson IV for the New York Institute of Photography and should have that posting soon (before the end of 2012), I hope.
